Stakeholder Collaboration in Action

The Inter-Agency Monitoring Body (IAMB), made up of executive and technical committees, is tasked with evaluating Galoc Field's environmental compliance and facilitating the resolution of any concerns, including jurisdictional issues on regulations, and standards enforcement. NPG-Matahio has maintained a good working relationship with the IAMB team for about 16 years since the beginning of Galoc operation.

The IAMB’s contribution and guidance on environmental compliance and social development projects over the years have helped NPG-Matahio achieve its social and environmental goals and maintain its integrity for environmentally safe operation. In the first month of every quarter, the IAMB technical team boards the FPSO for site inspections and water sampling, ensuring NPG-Matahio meets all compliance conditions.

In recent years, NPG-Matahio's efforts have been recognised by IAMB members with awards such as the Palawan Biosphere Peace and Sustainability Champion and the Philippine Coast Guard Kapakanan Award.
